The AVI finances the development of new techniques for the recycling and manufacture of construction materials from waste

The Agència Valenciana de la Innovació (AVI) finances the development of new techniques for recycling and manufacturing construction materials from construction and demolition waste, an initiative carried out by Cantera La Torreta in collaboration with the Instituto Tecnológico Metalmecánico, Mueble, Madera, Embalaje y Afines (Aidimme), the Instituto de Tecnología Cerámica (ITC) and the Concrete Science and Instituto de Ciencia y Tecnología del Hormigón de la Universitat Politècnica de València (ICITECH-UPV).

The objective is to obtain recycled materials that have characteristics similar to those from virgin raw materials, which would help to value this type of waste, which usually ends up in the landfill.

The project, baptized as SOST-RCD, has received the support of the AVI in the framework of its last call for grants, due to its potential impact both on the value chain of the construction sector and for its impulse in the adoption of the principles of the circular economy in the productive system of the Valencian Community.
